The following activities should be avoided within the first 24 hours:
- Getting them wet
- Spray or airbrush tanning
- Exposure to excessive steam
- Exposure to excessive heat
- Contact lens insertion
The following activities may weaken the adhesive bond and result in premature eyelash extension loss, and therefore be avoided:
- Excessive exposure to friction
- Excessive use of oil-based eye care products on or near your eyelashes, such as eye creams, Vaseline and cleansers
- Use of waterproof cosmetic products on or near the eyelashes, including waterproof mascara and eyeliner
- Excessive mascara application
- Use of mechanical or heated curlers
- Picking or pulling on your eyelashes
- Excessively rubbing your eyes
- Letting water from your shower head run directly onto your lashes
- Chemical treatments, such as eyelash tinting or perming
To prevent damage to your eyelash extensions, care should be taken when receiving any of the following procedures:
- Strong chemical peels or skin-resurfacing procedures that come in direct contact with the eye area
- Facial treatments and facial massages
Lash Care Tips
- Brush lashes from center to tip with mascara wand to maintain them as they grow
- Sleep on your back or on your side with lashes off the pillow
- Do not use eyeliner pencils – opt for felt or pen tip
- Do not use cotton balls or pads with loose fibers that can catch on your lash extensions
- Schedule regular touch-up appointments every 2-4 weeks
